A leading apparel company is seeking an Accounting Lead in Mexico, Veracruz to manage financial reporting operations. In this role, you will ensure compliance with accounting standards while supporting the financial health of the organization. You will supervise the finance team, implement internal controls, and conduct financial analyses. The ideal candidate has 10+ years of experience in a Multi-National Corporation and is proficient in SAP and Excel. Strong leadership and analytical skills are necessary for success in this position.

About the Job

Will play a pivotal role in managing financial reporting operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization.

This role reports to the Controller and offers opportunities for professional growth and development within our Finance Team.

Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (US GAAP & local GAAP).
• Month‑end Close: Participate in the month‑end and year‑end closing processes, including reconciliations and journal entries.
• Audit Support: Coordinate and support annual audits and tax filings, ensuring accurate and timely submission.
• Statutory Reporting: ensure a timely and accurate reporting for external stakeholders, which include government entities and financial institutions.
• Internal Controls: Implement and maintain internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
• Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement.
• Team Leadership: Supervise and support the finance team, providing guidance and mentorship to staff members.
• Regulatory Compliance: Stay up to date with changes in accounting and tax regulations and ensure the company's compliance.
• Budget Management: Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes and provide financial analysis and insights to guide decision‑making.

About You

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting (Master's degree and CPA preferred).
• Master is a plus (MBA, Tax, Finance)
• 10 years of professional experience in a Multi‑National Corporation and / or Consulting Firms (Tax department / Big 4).
• Self‑starter with an ability to multi‑task.
• Proven experience in accounting and financial management, ideally in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and audit processes.
• Proficiency in accounting software (SAP preferably) and Microsoft Excel.
• Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Integrity and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
• Fluent in English, written and spoken.
