AWS Platform Developer Area: Cloud Platform
Role summary:
- Full‑stack engineer responsible for building and extending the internal developer portal (Backstage) and platform services. Integrates AWS, CI/CD, and enterprise tools; automates golden paths and onboarding; and champions developer experience through usable workflows, documentation, and metrics.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the frontend and backend using React, Node.js, and TypeScript to deliver seamless navigation, search, and developer workflows.
- Design and extend Backstage platform capabilities by building custom plugins, software templates, and integrations with CI/CD, monitoring, and AWS services.
- Integrate Backstage with enterprise ecosystems — GitHub, GitHub Actions, Service Catalog, AWS, Grafana, Jira, and Confluence.
- Automate developer onboarding and scaffolding through reusable templates, golden paths, and metadata‑driven workflows that accelerate app delivery.
- Champion developer experience by collecting feedback, improving usability, and embedding documentation (TechDocs, Scorecards, and APIs) directly into the portal.
Required skills:
- Full‑Stack Development: Strong React + TypeScript skills for UI extensions; Node.js and Express for backend customization and service integrations.
- AWS & CI/CD Integration: Experience connecting the Internal Developer Portal (Backstage) with AWS services, GitHub Actions, and Kubernetes clusters.
- Developer Experience Engineering: Familiar with golden paths, service scorecards, API discovery, and building developer‑centric workflows and metrics dashboards.
- Platform Automation & Observability: Understanding of authentication (SSO/OAuth), metrics (Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus), and internal platform reliability.
