Commitment & contract: fixed term contract, full time, 36 months duration
Location: Center for Human Technologies – Genova

YOUR TEAM
You’ll be working in a multicultural and multi-disciplinary group, where molecular biologists, genomic technologists, and computational scientists collaborate, each with their own expertise, to carry out common research.
Within the team, your main responsibilities will be:
- Managing large amounts of sequencing data and setting up standardized DNAseq/RNAseq analysis pipelines and software infrastructure for the Genomics Facility users.
WHAT WOULD MAKE YOU SHINE
- Master's in Bioinformatics, computational biology, or a related field
- At least 2 years of documented experience in the field
- Experience with high throughput DNA/RNA sequencing data analysis and related computational tools
- Strong knowledge of bioinformatics data types and formats
- Proficiency in Linux, HPC clusters, and scheduling systems (e.g., Slurm, PBS)
- Background in molecular biology, good communication skills, and willingness to collaborate in a multidisciplinary environment, interacting extensively with experimental life scientists at IIT
- Ability to document, organize, and publish research data properly
- Good command of spoken and written English
EXTRA AWESOME
- Proficiency in R or Python
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, GitHub, GitLab)
- Knowledge of Oxford Nanopore sequencing data formats and pipelines
- Skills in managing -omic datasets, developing analysis pipelines with container systems (Docker, Singularity), and workflow engines (Nextflow, Snakemake)
- Good time and priority management
- Ability to work in a challenging, international environment
