Senior Embedded Software Engineer
Job summary
A leading technology company is seeking a Senior Software Engineer specializing in audio functionalities for its site in Piemonte, Italy. You will work on projects involving real-time audio streaming, IP networking, and device diagnostics. The ideal candidate has a degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science and expertise in VoIP technologies like Asterisk and SIP. Proficiency in Linux, C++, and scripting languages is essential. The role offers opportunities for independence and occasional travel.
Qualifications
- Degree in a relevant field such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
- Strong knowledge in VoIP technologies, particularly Asterisk PBX, SIP, and RTP.
- Proficient in Linux and Embedded Linux environments.
- Experience with IP networking and scripting languages such as bash and python.
- Familiarity with unit testing and UML.
- Ability to document using doxygen, sphinx, and plantuml.
- Professional English is required.
- Independent worker who enjoys working with distributed systems.
- Willingness to travel occasionally.

- Design enhancements for modules and frameworks.

You will work for Annax, a Wabtec site specialized in passenger information systems for long and short distance trains, trams and subways.
There is a new development team in Piossasco, dedicated to strengthening the portfolio of tram projects.
As a Senior Software Engineer with a specialization for audio functionalities, you will work in multiple projects and be responsible for the implementation and configuration of real time audio streaming features, IP network configurations and protocols, devices diagnostics, compatibility to 3rd party devices and cyber security requirements.
- Define tasks and work packages
- Configuration and implementation of features in the context of a project
- Develop, test and document your code
- Design module and framework extensions
- Configure and integrate ANNAX software and Linux services
- Analyze issues and fix bugs
- Apply cyber security rules
- Live clean code principles
- Evaluate and elaborate new technologies
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or similar
- Know-How in VoIP technologies, especially Asterisk PBX, SIP & RTP in an embedded context considering limited memory, CPU and network resources
- Professional knowledge of Linux, Embedded Linux, IP networks
- Other skills : C++, scripting languages (bash, python), Unit Testing, UML
- Documentation with doxygen, sphinx and plantuml
- Administration of code with svn, git, gitlab
- Professional English
- Works well independently
- Excited about distributed systems and having fun with them
- Available to travel occasionally
