The Group has more than 1,800 employees located in 18 production facilities across Europe, North America and Asia.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a skilled professional to join our R&D team. This role involves close collaboration with our customers' R&D departments and the development of processes for the application of new technologies and materials (primarily coatings, but not exclusively) to be introduced to the market.

  • Developing processes in line with customer agreements or market needs
  • Demonstrating the feasibility of industrializing processes through the development and production of initial batches
  • Supporting the industrialization of these processes at our operations sites or at customer locations

The team works closely with the Rubbiano plant and other facilities within the Surface Solution division, as well as directly with customers.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

As a member of the R&D team at our Headquarters, the selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Managing development projects for innovative coatings on components across various industrial sectors, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards
  • Analyzing process data using statistical methods, defining development plans following the PDCA and DMAIC methodologies, and preparing detailed reports
  • Collaborating with cross‑functional teams to optimize processes, as well as supporting the transfer of developed processes to operations at group or customer facilities
  • Preparing operational instructions and technical documentation to ensure smooth knowledge transfer to production teams

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
  • Master’s degree in scientific or engineering disciplines, with a focus on Material Sciences, Physics or Chemistry
  • PhD or equivalent experience in a manufacturing company will be preferred
  • Strong project planning and management skills (previous experience in similar roles is preferred)
  • Proven experience in technical relations with customers
  • Active participation to international seminars / conventions as a speaker
  • Excellent command of English (both written and spoken)
  • Proactive mindset
  • Effective leadership and team management
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build lasting customer relationships
WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in both an office environment and a manufacturing environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The individual will be required to adhere to safety policies and procedures on the manufacturing floor.

PHYSICAL DEMAND

Limited physical demand may be needed. Physical demands will involve standing, walking, and occasionally moving or lifting material.

POSITION TYPE / EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a full‑time position, with core hours Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm. As an exempt employee, you will be required to work additional hours to support business demands.

TRAVEL

Frequent travel may be required to support the rapid growth of the company (both national and international), to attend international meetings and conferences. Business travels may require some weeks of permanence abroad.
