If so, join our team as a Software Tester Apprentice and embark on a journey that will shape your future in the world of quality assurance.

As a Software Tester Apprentice, you'll play a pivotal role in the development and deployment of cutting‑edge software solutions. You'll work alongside seasoned testing experts, learning to hone your skills in manual and automated testing, defect management, and risk mitigation. You'll also cultivate critical communication and collaboration skills, serving as a bridge between development teams, business stakeholders, and end‑users. You’ll translate complex technical information into actionable insights, reporting on test progress and defects to drive continuous improvement.

Throughout your apprenticeship you will develop a deep understanding of the software development lifecycle, mastering techniques to analyse requirements, design comprehensive test plans, and execute a diverse array of test scenarios. You will approach functional, non‑functional, and change‑related testing with meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to ensuring the highest levels of software quality.

During the 24‑month apprenticeship you will receive classroom or virtual based training, on‑the‑job training at your Amazon base location, online learning and mentoring from experienced team members. You may be required to travel to a training centre on occasion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop an understanding of the software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis to deployment.
  • Analyse software and systems to proactively identify and mitigate potential risk and issues.
  • Participate in the quality assurance stage of software development and deployment.
  • Conduct both manual and automated tests to ensure software is fit for purpose and free from bugs before it reaches end‑users.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to log defects, provide regular updates and drive continuous improvement.
Basic Qualifications
  • Be 18 years or over before the start date (September 2026).
  • Have the right to live and work in England. If on a visa, this must enable you to legally work and reside in England for the entire duration of the program.
  • Have lived in the UK or EEA for the last 3 years.
  • Be a resident of the UK for the entire duration of the program.
  • Not be registered to study on a UK government funded course ending August 2026 or later.
  • Have at least 5 GCSEs at grade 4–9 (A–C) or above, including Maths and English.
  • Have an A Level in a STEM subject, a BTEC Diploma in a STEM subject, or a Level 3 IT apprenticeship.
  • If qualifications were obtained outside the UK, a statement of comparability from UK ENIC is required: https://www.enic.org.uk/
  • Do not already hold a qualification in a similar subject at the same or higher level than this apprenticeship.
  • The apprenticeship assumes the candidate has some or little knowledge/experience of the occupation.
