Software Engineer in Test Automation Contractor

Location : Remote – Time zone overlaps with GMT+9 or GMT+12

Job Type : Contractor

Job Description

As a Software Engineer in Test Automation Contractor, you will focus on developing automated tests for our software. You will use your knowledge of testing and testability to influence software design, promote proper engineering practices, testability, and other advanced quality concepts.

Essential Duties

• Own the automation testing frameworks and design
• Write moderately complex code to test systems
• Work with team members to keep testing at the forefront of our SDLC
• Inject expertise on test case reusability and design
• Discover common behaviors within the applications and translate these into automated tests
• Drive further adoption of unit / integration / system testing, metrics to monitor code coverage, bug prevention strategies, and other quality measures

Minimum Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in software testing and quality assurance
• 7+ years of experience in test methodologies, writing test plans, creating test cases and debugging
• 2+ years of experience in Automated testing using JavaScript / TypeScript / NodeJS
• Experience testing SaaS products
• Black box and white box experience and expertise
• Desire to learn new technologies
• Excellent written / oral English communication skills
• Demonstrated attention to detail
• BS / BA in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent years of experience in quality assurance

Ideal Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant work experience in testing software and building automated test suites within a large-scale SaaS environment
• 3+ years of experience in developing test automation in JavaScript
• Experience with BDD, Cucumber, Cypress, Selenium
• Experience with Continuous Delivery / Deployment and cloud deployment (AWS, Bamboo, Jenkins)
• Experience with Visual Studio Code or JetBrains tools - IntelliJ
• Strong coding skills
