Overview

Software Development Engineer II, Direct Fulfilment – Join a talented team of software engineers and technical leaders dedicated to reaching the next billion customers. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-impact, complex challenges as we scale our systems to support new and rapidly growing India and emerging marketplaces. As a software engineer on the team, you will be responsible for the technical design and implementation of solutions that enable our Direct Fulfillment (DF) model. DF allows vendors to ship products directly to customers on behalf of Amazon. This requires building systems that can reliably work end-to-end for emerging and global marketplaces and enable seamless customer experiences. Responsibilities

• Designing and developing highly reliable, scalable, and distributed systems.
• Delivering quality features on‑time and executing against project plans and delivery commitments.
• Working with team members to manage the day‑to‑day development activities, participate in designs, code review, implementation, and operational excellence.
• Engaging and working with customers and dependencies to ensure the quality delivery.
• Mentoring other engineers.
• Maintaining current technical knowledge to support rapidly changing technology, always on a look‑out for new technologies and working with the team in bringing them in.
• Launching products to India as well as worldwide marketplaces.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non‑internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
• Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence.
