Senior Sales Manager - Italy

We have two positions - one based in Milan, and one based in Rome

We are looking for TWO Senior District Sales Manager's , one based in Milan , one in Rome , to lead our growing teams in Italy. This role will report to the Sales Director and will manage a team of Territory Account Managers based in Milan in the North, or Rome in the South of Italy. You will be responsible for leading the execution of Illumina’s commercial strategies, ensuring budgeted annual sales and profit objectives are met within designated territories and for the district overall.To be successful in this role you will have a life sciences background, experience selling technology, medical devices, capex, and be familiar with public tenders and a clinical environment. You will be a Sales leader who has a structured approach, sales and people management experience, sales force experience as well as accurate forecasting abilities. You will manage teams of highly successful Territory Account Managers who has large quotas to fill in Italy, one of Europe's fasting growing regions!

  • Develop, implement and monitor the district business plan to meet assigned revenue and strategic objectives.
  • Responsible for the direction, support and motivation of the district sales team to meet agreed targets and objectives.
  • Establish territory quotas and achieve the quarterly and annual sales and profit plan as assigned.
  • Routinely forecast, monitor, and control selling and other expenses for the district within assigned expense budgets.
  • Routinely and accurately forecast customer demand (i.e., product quantities and dollars, orders, shipments).
  • Ensure that sales staff achieves their forecasts, follows company guidelines / practices / policies,and provide timely development plans to correct for under performance.
  • Responsible for ensuring that Illumina’s commitment to customer satisfaction is performed, delivered, and constantly improved.

  • Significant sales experience in the Life Science industry.
  • Sales management experience in the Life Science industry.
