A leading transportation engineering company in Pistoia is seeking a Senior CAB Engineer to manage technical design for driver's cabins. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Mechanical Engineering, 3+ years of related experience, and expertise in mechanical design software. This full-time position offers the chance to thrive in an international and collaborative environment.

Competenze

  • Experience in railway or mechanical industry, preferably with vehicle engineering.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Mansioni

  • Support technical design of driver’s cabin during project bid.
  • Conduct ergonomic assessments for train driver’s work environment.
  • Prepare system requirements for mechanical systems.

Conoscenze

Mechanical Engineering Degree
3+ years in railway or mechanical industry
Knowledge of pneumatic/hydraulic/electrical schemes

Accountabilities
  • Support and coordination during the bid and project development of the technical design of the driver’s cabin
  • Definition of the conceptual solution of Equipment Integration in the cabin
  • Carry out ergonomic assessments for the train driver’s working place
  • Preparation of system requirements specification of a mechanical system
  • Analysis of Suppliers' technical proposals
  • Creation and Checking of the technical description of the system
  • Verification of drawings / documents (Electrical, Mechanical, etc.) for installation / integration
  • Checking of FEM analysis report
  • Tolerance concept & analysis for equipment integration
  • Preparation / verification of performance test specification
  • Support during system type tests
  • Support during the on-board integration test
  • Design review with Clients and Suppliers
Required Skills / Knowledge
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience of at least 3 years in the railway or mechanical industry with the role of Vehicle Engineer or mechanical industry with the role of mechanical integrator
  • Preferrable the candidate gained already experience with the design of driver’s cabs.
  • comprehension of pneumatic schemes, hydraulic schemes and electrical schemes
  • experience with bolted, riveted and glued connections.
  • Experience with resin parts, FRP
  • Basic knowledge of electrics and mechanics is required.
  • Knowledge of the main office automation software / tools (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Knowledge of mechanical design software (Autocad, Creo, Catia, etc.) and the IBM DOORS requirements management tool.
  • Knowledge of Engineering Processes and Railway Operations.
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organisation, with the attitude to contribute with constructive and practical ideas.
  • Readiness to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced, multitasking international environment.
  • Ability to work autonomously in teams and for projects is required.
  • Availability for short-term national and international business trips.

Languages
