A dynamic travel startup in Milan is seeking a Senior Accountant to manage financial reporting, accounts payable, and budgeting. The ideal candidate has a strong accounting background with at least 5 years of experience and advanced Excel skills. JOB TITLE : Senior Accountant
LOCATION : Milan (Hybrid)
TYPE OF CONTRACT : Permanent, full time
SALARY RANGE : €32,000 – €40,000 gross / year
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to provide a clear picture of WeRoad’s financial health.
Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoicing, payments, and collections, ensuring smooth cash flow management.
Support budgeting and forecasting, analyzing variances to inform strategic decision-making.
Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and accounting standards, while supporting external audits.
Identify and implement process improvements to streamline accounting operations.
Partner with teams across the organization to deliver financial insights that support business initiatives.
(Nice to have) Mentor and support junior members of the accounting team.
Minimum of 5 years in accounting or finance , with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.Professional certifications (CPA, CMA, ACCA) are a plus.
Technical Skills : Advanced Excel proficiency, strong knowledge of accounting software, and familiarity with ERP systems (Business Central is a strong plus). Solid knowledge of Italian GAAP (OIC); IFRS knowledge is a plus.
Analytical & Problem-Solving : Data-driven, detail-oriented, with strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to solving problems.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial data in a simple, clear way to non-financial stakeholders.
Collaborative mindset, proactive and accountable, flexible and adaptable in a fast-changing environment, curious and eager to grow in a scale-up.
High level of English, written and spoken.
