Marketing Manager B2B

We are currently searching for a Marketing Manager B2B in S&EM Italy reporting to the Head of Downstream, based in Milan.

The Marketing Manager B2B will lead, strategically, a team of 2-3 specialists and lead the development and lifecycle management of energy products (electricity and gas) for the B2B, Giants, and SME segments in the Italian market. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of product structuring, market intelligence mechanism, and sales channel collaboration, with a proven ability to translate market insights into actionable product strategies.

What will you do?
  • Monitor and analyze market trends, customers and competitors behavior, as well as competitive landscape to benchmark continuously defined strategy, anticipating commercial trends and identify new opportunities on segment and products.
  • Collaborate actively with the Head of Downstream and the other sales manager to set up and fine tune the commercial strategy and the client segmentation, regarding clients, volume, delivery point and sector of interests, of Downstream desk of the BP Italy.
  • Contribute to the strategic direction of BP Italy by aligning marketing initiatives with business objectives.
  • Design and structure innovative energy products tailored to B2B, Giants, and SME customer needs in alignment with specialized Energy management desk fully respecting internal guidelines and procedures.
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of product creation being the main interface of the Downstream desk versus the main internal stakeholders, from ideation to launch and post‑launch performance tracking.
  • Evaluate product performances and market reaction to optimize offerings strategies and positioning. In this contest support Head of Downstream to fully oversee desk performances with a strong digital orientation on weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly basis.
  • Act as a key interface with Key Account Managers (KAMs) across B2B, Giants, and SME channels to gather insights and feedback from the field. On this regard ensure alignment between defined commercial strategy represented by designed products and clients segmentation and sales execution activity.
  • Foster continuously a collaborative and performance‑driven team culture.
About you
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or commercial related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in marketing and/or market intelligence and/or market analysis activity on supply B2B field, or similar commercial roles within the energy sector.
  • Proven track record in structuring, customization and product management of B2B energy products.
  • Excellent financial acumen and experience on supporting decision makers (head of Downstream and Sales managers) on managing budgets and financial performance, with deep understanding of the impact of energy transition and of energy risk management.
  • Excellent stress management, especially in scenarios requiring quick reactions.
  • A basic knowledge of SQL for independent data extraction and analysis constitutes a significant advantage, while familiarity with advanced analytics platforms like Dataiku, Power BI is considered a plus. Furthermore, experience with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, MS Dynamics) and marketing automation tools is essential to effectively align with sales channels and drive customer lifecycle strategies. Finally, a strong digital mindset is required to organize workflows using collaborative tools like Microsoft Planner.
  • Demonstrated capacity to lead a skilled team and working in start‑up mode.
  • Negotiation and influence skills to manage dependencies with other internal teams across the value chain (PMO/PO) without direct hierarchical authority. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate projects aligning different experts with a clear objective to successfully deploy new products within defined risk mandates and company procedures. In this contest very careful to details, deadlines guarantying operational excellence.
  • Fluent English and Italian. Fluent in French would be a plus.
  • Collaborative, able to create an inclusive and motivating work environment and team spirit.
  • Ability to build and maintain credibility and trust with senior stakeholders and to be able to communicate complex issues simply and compellingly to clients and employees.
  • Demonstrated leadership and assertiveness with communication & presentation skills. Consolidated and excellent use of PowerPoint.
  • Self‑motivated and results oriented. Humble.
  • Willingness to travel in Italy and abroad.
