The Automotive Business is responsible for Automotive applications with a global responsibility for Sales, Manufacturing, Business Development, Product and Process Development. The Automotive Business operates in a wide range of countries and markets, with a customer portfolio that includes all major OEMs in the Automotive Industry. Our business is fully customer-centred, with products specifically designed for Automotive applications. Complex product design with very high standards of quality and traceability requirements is the peculiarity of our Business Lines.

Overview

Role: Key Account Manager for Italy

Scope: European Tiers & Two Wheelers — Automotive Business

Responsibilities

  • Customer Portfolio Management: Oversee the full customer lifecycle, including demand forecasting, order processing, quality issue resolution, delivery coordination, and payment follow-up. Aim to enhance customer satisfaction while boosting SKF’s profitability.
  • Business Profitability & Cost Management: Develop a deep understanding of SKF’s cost structure to support strategic decisions that improve business profitability. Collaborate with Business Line teams to ensure profitable growth, effective pricing strategies, and cost optimization.
  • Performance Monitoring & Forecasting: Monitor KPIs and profitability results across the business portfolio, providing actionable insights to management to support strategic planning and accurate forecasting.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Maintain continuous communication with key internal stakeholders (BD, AE, PMO) to ensure timely completion of project milestones within the Engineer-to-Order (ETO) process.
  • Collaborative Sales Approach: Work closely with other sales teams, manufacturing units, and support functions across different regions and countries to align on goals and deliver consistent value to customers.
  • Market Intelligence & Opportunity Development: Gather and analyse market data on the Tiers and Two-Wheelers segment to identify new business opportunities, understand customer development needs, and foster long-term partnerships.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in engineering, business management, or a related field.
  • A few years of experience in Sales as an Account Manager, handling international customers.
  • Professional fluency in English and Italian, both written and spoken.
  • Proficient communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all organizational levels and foster collaboration across departments and functions.
  • Project management skills with the ability to coordinate customer initiatives on a global scale and consistently deliver results within established deadlines.
  • Proficiency in CRM and ERP tools such as Power BI and SAP, to efficiently manage customer activities and monitor key business performance indicators.
  • High-level technical skill set in bearing products will be a plus.
