Role Overview

The EHS Manager is responsible for leading and managing Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security compliance at the Caivano site, ensuring adherence to local legislation and PPG’s EHS standards, procedures, and processes. This role involves continuous assessment and improvement of the EHS Management System, development of strategic site investments in EHS infrastructure, and collaboration with leadership teams to embed EHS best practices. The position requires occasional travel within the country.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with all applicable EHS legal requirements and communicate these effectively to the local Leadership Team.
  • Develop, implement, and align local EHS strategies and plans with corporate and regional guidelines, providing feedback to the Country Manager.
  • Participate as a member of the local Leadership Team, supporting decision-making and local needs in coordination with the Location Manager and EHS Country Manager.
  • Define and maintain EHS staffing requirements, coordinating with the EHS Country Manager to secure necessary resources.
  • Collaborate with Process Safety Managers/Coordinators to address process safety requirements.
  • Identify, prioritize, and manage the local EHS budget in alignment with site leadership and country guidelines.
  • Communicate and seek approval for any off-site EHS activities.
  • Lead comprehensive reviews and audits of EHS policies, procedures, and performance, recommending improvements and corrective actions.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and hazards, preparing regulatory reports and root cause analyses.
  • Develop and deliver employee training, emergency preparedness, and quality assurance programs.
  • Maintain and update EHS scorecards, facilitate local EHS leadership team meetings, and participate in country-level EHS reviews.
Scope and Impact
  • Lead EHS compliance for one or multiple sites with medium complexity and moderate risk.
  • Act as a technical expert and individual contributor, providing guidance and training on EHS processes and programs.
  • Exercise independent judgment in decision-making with minimal supervision.
Required Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in EHS, chemistry, engineering, or related science.
  • In-depth knowledge of occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations, with a commitment to staying current on regulatory changes.
  • Strong analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving skills with the ability to innovate and adapt existing methods.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills to influence and collaborate across multiple organizational levels.
  • Ability to manage budgets, resources, and multiple priorities effectively.
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel within the country as required.
