This Position Reports To

Business Chief Financial Officer

Reporting directly to the CFO, you will take global responsibility for the accounting and reporting function of the ABB Robotics business, ensuring accurate, timely, and efficient financial and sustainability reporting for internal and external stakeholders. You will lead the design, governance, and continuous improvement of core accounting processes and systems, while fostering cross-team integration and operational excellence. You will oversee the implementation of financial systems, coordinate with FP&A, and manage the relationship with external auditors, along with the CFO.

The work model for the role is: hybrid.

Preferred location: Switzerland (other European locations possible)

Some amount of travelling might be required for this position.

Responsibilities
  • Accounting & Reporting Leadership: Lead a coordinated team-driven execution of accounting and reporting processes, ensuring alignment across functions within the CAO scope and compliance with policies, laws, and regulations.
  • Systems & Process Management: Set up core finance systems, record-to-report (R2R) process design, and the implementation of financial systems to support accurate and efficient reporting.
  • Governance & Control: Establish and maintain governance frameworks, controls, and documentation for financial and sustainability reporting, ensuring processes are fit-for-purpose and right-sized.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication: Drive strong collaboration with internal teams, FP&A, leadership, and external auditors; communicate performance, gaps, and improvement plans effectively.
  • Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence: Apply best practices such as Lean and Six Sigma to identify and implement process improvements, performance metrics, and efficiency initiatives across the finance function.
  • Separation & Stakeholder Collaboration: Represent CAO organization in the carve-out project, ensuring smooth separation, while working closely with business leaders and finance teams across ABB Robotics and ABB Group.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance with 15+ years of global accounting and finance experience, ideally in reporting, controllership, and process management.
  • US CPA qualification required, preferably with extensive Big4 experience and strong knowledge of world-class internal control frameworks.
  • Proven ability to work in complex, diverse, multi-divisional global organizations, managing multiple projects and translating complex methodologies into practical business solutions.
  • Recognized team player and trusted business partner with outstanding leadership, communication, influencing, and networking skills; able to build strong relationships with senior executives.
  • Strategic, high-integrity professional with strong cross-functional finance knowledge (Tax, Treasury, Investor Relations), customer focus, and a results-oriented, quality-driven mindset.
