With a strong international footprint and a proven portfolio of advanced technologies, our client delivers solutions that convert organic waste streams into clean, sustainable energy while reducing greenhouse gas emissions for municipal, industrial, commercial, and agricultural customers worldwide.
We are now supporting them in the search for an experienced Process Engineer to optimise process design, ensure technical performance, and contribute to the continuous improvement of plant efficiency across the project lifecycle.
Mission
To guarantee the optimisation, accuracy, and performance of process design during every phase of project development and plant operation — ensuring high‑performing, competitive, and profitable biogas solutions.
Core Goals
- Analyse input data and required outputs, ensuring consistency, completeness, and technical feasibility.
- Define and validate the overall treatment process, including flowrates, equipment sizing, and integration of all process sub‑sections.
- Develop, update, and manage process engineering documentation.
- Contribute to internal knowledge development, including databases, testing criteria, and calculation tools.
Provide expert support through each major stage of the project lifecycle:
- Commercial Phase – offering process expertise to support proposals and design concepts
- Engineering Phase – producing process deliverables and working within the project engineering team
- Commissioning & Start‑Up – supporting site teams during hot‑commissioning, ramp‑up, and start‑up
- Operational Support – assisting biological/service teams and providing support to end‑users

Responsibilities & Authority
- Define the technical specifications of feedstocks and establish evaluation/analysis criteria.
- Validate and optimise process sub‑sections, including performance requirements for each stage.
- Produce and manage all process engineering deliverables as per project documentation standards.
- Prepare start‑up plans and support commissioning activities on site.
- Provide training and guidance to plant owners, managers, and operators.
- Plan and interpret chemical/biological analysis campaigns during commissioning and operation.
- Support the development of the Control Narrative, ensuring accurate process control logic and instrumentation integration.
- Monitor and assess plant performance, identifying risks and recommending improvements.
Job Requirements
- Minimum 5 years experience in a similar process engineering position within biogas, wastewater treatment, industrial process, or related sectors.
- Strong proficiency in process calculation and modelling tools.
- Solid understanding of available treatment technologies and ability to select/apply them effectively.
- Ability to develop high‑quality technical and graphical documents.
- Experience planning/analysing chemical and biological testing.
- Strong ability to identify and mitigate process risks.
- Excellent command of Italian and English (written and spoken).
