Job description

To Plan, Monitor, Control and Lead Warehouse, logistics & Stores functions.

To Plan, Direct, Monitor and Control Procurement of Raw & Auxiliary materials and Packing materials.

To Deliver efficient and timely services to all external & internal customers.

To Ensure Workplace Health and Safety requirements are met with the standard.

With an objective to achieve customer happiness by supporting uninterrupted Sales & Production activity of PT Indo Bharat Rayon.

• Warehouse Management of 45,000 sq.mtr area (30 locations).
• Controlling average 18,000 SKUs (Total 44,000 SKUs).
• Material Management of 14.5 Lacs TPA through 30 Eqpts.
• Controlling TAT of about 54,000 Vehicle Movement annually.

Leading Team and People Management of 132 Personnel.

Job Context and Major Challenges

It has mandated that service functions to be the driver of business process to exhibit its commitment for customer satisfaction by offering world-class service levels. Warehouse, Logistics, Stores & Procurement are some of such important services which play a vital role in production and sales operations.

Challenge is to efficiently plan, control and monitor material management with total safety of 14 Lacs TPA contains materials which contain a wide product range of 18,000 SKUs through 54,000 vehicles moving annually from customers and suppliers with thorough planning and coordination.

Key Result Area

Inventory Management: Plan and ensure optimum inventory levels of all items for smooth plant operations in a cost-effective way.

• Plan & Monitor effective material management of all FG/RM/PM/SPARES to customers in a cost-effective manner.
• Finalize Key Performance indicators of operational activity and strictly monitor processes for compliance of SOP.
• Organize and schedule all the necessary resources required to support uninterrupted sale and production.
• Effectively communicate with the customers to understand and resolve their grievances to earn customer happiness for the benefit of the company.
• Review stock position and coordinate with concern to liquidate the aged stock.
• Have inter-department coordination for identifying the operational gaps with action plan to resolution.
• Ensure to achieve and sustain benchmarking in efficiently handling material volumes with minimum manpower & resources, among our business Units.
• Plan and monitor to achieve maximum loading of finish goods (VSF and Sodium Sulphate) in containers and trucks to save logistic cost on a sustainable basis.

Procurement of Raw Materials, Chemicals and Packing materials: Planning, timely ordering and ensuring delivery on time in full.

• Co-ordinate and Participate with Central Procurement Cell to Formulate & negotiate Long Term / High Value agreement to ensure uninterrupted supply and reasonable pricing with key input vendors.
• Ensure timely availability of Auxiliary chemicals and Packing materials for uninterrupted operations.
• Identify & implement opportunity for cost reduction through vendor development, partnering & collaborating with key vendors for efficient supply chain, monitoring of commodity prices, bulk delivery, optimum order quantity etc.
• Plan effectively & strategically to optimize the inventory levels of Raw Materials, Chemicals and Packing materials.
• Ensure deliveries on time in full to achieve and sustain zero stock out.
• Enhance Vendor base through networking with group units, external agencies, web media, international seminars & conferences.
• Evaluate vendor before registration and review their performance periodically along with user departments.
• Finalise periodical rate contracts of inbound logistics, to reduce logistics cost for Raw materials transport, time to time as required.

Waste/ Bardana: Organize and plan disposal of Bardana and Waste in time and at optimum realizations.

• Lead scrap committee with objective to reduce scrap/waste generation, optimize collection and increase realization.
• Ensure proper and timely collection and sale of all scrap items.
• Ensure optimum realization from the sale of scrap.
• Review and monitor surplus & obsolete items on regular basis & coordinate for consumption or disposal.
• Ensure and monitor proper washing and storage of tow waste before selling it off.
• Ensure waste and disposed with all safety/environment compliance.

Safety: Implement Health and Safety standard.

• Plan and Monitor workplace health and safety requirement are met with the standard.
• Promote and Monitor safety standards and take proactive action to create.
• Promote positive safety culture through regular tool box talk.
• Identify, evaluate and remove safety observations which are pointed out during safety rounds.
• Maintain 5S to achieve operational excellence.
• Implement work procedures and standards to execute the task as per process to build robust safety culture.

People Development: People Management, Team Building, Nurture & develop talent to create future leaders.

Cost: Cost Optimization, Initiate cost reduction plan/measures.

MIS: To analyze the data, get MIS reports and plan the corrective.

Technology: IT Integration to address the Business requirements.

Job Purpose of Direct Reports

1. SH Stores (Material Receipt & Issue, Inventory control, Rejection returns, Returnable materials, Scrap mgmt., Weighbridge operations): To manage receipt, Issue & storage in Stores in cost-effective and safe manner, support to plant team for smooth operations.

• To manage Inventory control activities by conducting perpetual inventory exercise of all items in stocks as per SOP.
• To ensure timely receipt of returnable materials.
• To manage scrap and waste collection, storage and sale/disposal activities dispatch, sales document management and MIS.
• To manage weighbridge operations.

2. SH Warehouse (VSF & Sodium Sulphate): To manage production receipt, storage, preservation, dispatch and sales document management of VSF and Sodium Sulphate in cost-effective and safely manner to support sales & marketing team.

• To manage dispatch and dispatch documentation of Sulphuric Acid.
• To conduct perpetual inventory all the stored items as per SOP and ensure to achieve 100% accuracy.
• To ensure SOPs of goods picking for sales, safe and optimum loading of vehicles are being followed.
• To ensure all reported vehicles and dispatched on time with accuracy to achieve optimum TAT & OTIF.

3. FLO Purchase (Planning & Ordering): To plan and order major raw materials as per the contract/negotiations by Central procurement team.

• To plan and order all Auxiliary chemicals and Packing materials through proper RFQ, Comparative and Negotiation process as per SOP.
• To develop new and alternate Vendors to induce and leverage competition among the suppliers.
• To develop new and low-cost alternate materials for cost optimization strategy.
