Job description

We’re looking for a highly motivated, customer-oriented person who loves sales and meaningful travel. You’re confident communicating online, quick to respond, and proactive in following up with leads. You have experience selling travel experiences in Bali and enjoy connecting people with authentic, purpose-driven adventures.

Main activities

In close collaboration with our Sales and Trail teams, you will be responsible for:

  • Handling incoming customer communication , questions and requests through various communication channels for the Astungkara Trail : WhatsApp, email, verbal contacts. We aim to respond to all incoming requests within 12 hours maximum.
  • Providing them with existing marketing materials such as leaflets, catalogs, pricing, FAQs, etc. and answers to their various questions.
  • Inputting these leads into the Astungkara Way CRM spreadsheet and keeping it up-to-date. This means also getting back in touch with previous leads, reminding people of upcoming Trails and available time slots.
  • You will work in close collaboration with our Trail team members to check availability (of our team and of our local partners), possibilities for special requests and inform our team on progress of the sales for Trails (for example when a Trail is sold out, canceled, postponed, etc.). This collaboration will be mostly remote, using WhatsApp, as our team is often facilitating Trails in the field.
  • When you have gained sufficient experience and comfort promoting our Trails portfolio, you may reach out to and meet with potential sales partners for Astungkara Way Trails . These potential partners are organizations such as schools, travel agencies, hotels and retreat organizers.
  • You will need to build a strong relationship with these partners and customers, providing them with existing sales and marketing documentation and general information on Astungkara Way and our portfolio.

It is essential that you regularly communicate with the rest of the team on questions, remarks and suggestions received during exchanges with prospective customers or partners. It is also important that you work with our Marketing team to suggest useful documentation, videos, etc. that would help in your sales process.

Goals and challenges
  • Rapidly learn about the offerings you will be promoting and understand their unique market value, in order to effectively communicate those to potential customers.
  • Participate in the creation and improvement of Astungkara Way’s sales strategy and planning.
  • Many potential customers are in different time zones from Bali/Indonesia, also communicating during the weekend. While it is not expected to reply to them every day and at all times of the day, dedication and flexibility to support these customers is required.
Required skills and experience
  • Autonomy, curiosity and thinking outside of the box are key to the success of this job position.
  • An interest in community development, sustainable tourism and sustainability is a must: this work is not always easy, requires dedication and passion so only energy from your heart will get you through it :)
  • Experience in marketing and sales, ideally for tourism-related services.
  • Use of collaborative and digital tools – Google Workspace, Drive, etc. especially Sheets.
  • Excellent written and spoken English and Indonesian.
  • Excellent communication skills, both for contacts with prospective customers as well as with our team, to share the knowledge you gain during your work.
  • Complete understanding of the information publicly available about Astungkara Way, through our website and social media.
