A leading mining company in Nusa Tenggara Barat is seeking a Specialist - Environment Marine Monitoring to oversee marine data quality and compliance with environmental management programs. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, at least 5 years of experience in marine monitoring, and strong analytical and communication skills. This role involves conducting audits, managing documentation, and collaborating with various departments to ensure regulatory compliance.
· Responsible for utilizing strong technical skills in quality assurance and quality control of physical and chemical properties of marine data (seawater and seabed sediment) to fully comply with company monitoring requirements and data quality objectives using internationally recognized monitoring, method of sampling, and analytical protocols.
· To monitor marine environment and interpret the data collected to evaluate the effectiveness of company's environmental management program.
· To evaluate the Environment Marine monitoring data to ensure that company's environmental management programs comply with all applicable regulatory requirements.
o Conduct monthly field and lab audits of Field Officer as part of the job chart verification process.
o Indicate appropriate and develop suitable training for Env Monitoring Field Officer to ensure Env Monitoring Field Officer development in accordance with the duty requirements described on the Job Charts.
o Coach Field Officer under his/her supervision and with Sr. Spec. Env. Monitoring conducts annual progress reviews.
o Conduct/participate in a safety discussion per month. This time should include daily toolbox meetings and weekly and/or monthly non-staff meetings.
o Fill out a minimum of four safety interactions (SI).
o Involved in conducting Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) related to regular or irregular activities related to environmental monitoring.
o Prepare Safety Permit and Work Permit Documents for all related monitoring activities and ensure all Environmental Monitoring Field Officers and staff conform.
o Act as an ENV Safety Officer if assigned
o Act as the Environmental Emergency On-Call representative when scheduled.
o Coordinate and conduct environmental awareness as part of social license to operate.
o Provide weekly reports for marine activities.
o Assist Sr. Spec. Env. Monitoring to produce scientific papers related to environmental monitoring data.
o Conduct scientific presentations in internal ENV Technical Discussion or national/international conferences.
o Act as a Coordinator of ENV Monitoring Field Officer.
o Involved in Cross Section Internal Audit ENV Department and follow up on the Audit Findings.
o Ensure all documents related to Marine Monitoring are updated in Document Control System.
o Coordinate necessary support activities with other departments (i.e., process, IT, warehousing, port logistics, maintenance, Lab QAQC) to ensure timely work assignments.
o Ensure that laboratory equipment and tools are being properly inventoried, stored, and maintained and report inventory results to Senior Specialist Env. Monitoring monthly.
o Assist other ENV sections or other departments, consultants, governments, or any visitors in conducting related surveys under the direction of Senior Specialist (Coordinate visitor visas and travel arrangements, room arrangements, staffing requirements, etc).
o Ensure that all equipment is accounted for and in good operating condition before the visitors/consultant arrives at the site.
o Conducting seawater and sediment quality monitoring on a quarterly basis and ensuring the field data form and field data QAQC were completed on the same day of sampling.
o Conducting additional seawater and sediment quality monitoring in certain condition i.e., oxidized ore processing.
o Review marine data analysis from inside/outside laboratories through QAQC procedure.
o Upload and maintain marine data result into a database software (e.g., EQWIN).
o Reviewing and updating the field data sheet of marine sediment, marine water quality, and Marine sample Quality Control in certain periods based on document control recorded.
o Reviewing and updating the inventory form of field meters and marine laboratory instruments in certain periods based on document control recorded.
o Responsible for day-to-day marine laboratory operations for preparing the samples including the room and the instrument or equipment.
o Manage marine samples in special storerooms and record the samples’ histories well.
o Coordinate marine monitoring activities especially marine quality for seawater and sediment with other Specialist Env. Monitoring.
o Coordinate with related external stakeholders to calibrate and maintain Marine and Laboratory Equipment.
o Fully support data collecting and review related to the process of Environmental Permit renewal.
o Fully support and actively involved in other environmental monitoring activities.
o Act as coordinator during the absence of Senior Specialist Env. Monitoring and support activities in Env Monitoring.

Responsible for becoming fully competent in general duties identified on the Environmental Monitoring Field Officer Job Desk. The Specialist is responsible for ensuring that the following tasks are conducted in accordance with the approved schedule and standard operating procedures:
The programs must be completed according to the schedule required to meet all RPL, permits, and Company’s objectives, and to comply with the laws of the government of Indonesia, company internal speed limit, and company corporate policies.
Data Review and Management
Responsible for managing documentation and data files and to analyze data for trend analysis.
What skills and experience do you need?
· Bachelor Degree in Marine Science, Oceanography, Chemistry, Biology, Ecology, Environmental Engineering, or another science-related subject.
· Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in environment marine monitoring, or related areas. Mineral mining industry background preferred.
· Experienced in conducting multiple media environmental sampling and monitoring or equivalent experience obtained while pursuing a post-graduate college degree.
· Analytical mindset with strong communication and team building; Good interpersonal skills and coordination skills
· Excellent communication skills in English both verbal and written and computer literate:
o Strong computer skills to utilize standard Ms. Office software package and project-specific software such as GIS, statistical program, equipment software, database software, EQwin database , and graphing software.
o Good report writing skills.
· Hold an operational inspector certificate or qualifications certificate recognized by KaIT (Chief Mines Inspector) in accordance with the level of positions; possess relevant technical inspector certificate
