Responsible for the strategic development of sourcing and material planning team to maximize value for money and achieve legislation compliance through the support and development of best practice for the group of businesses.
He/She shall be a sourcing team member in developing and implementation of on-going Procurement Strategies and policies and supplier performance management. The person shall support development of new / review policies and processes in procurement team to create greater competition and align the business to category procurement strategies.
Responsibilities
- Responsible in Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM), from intake and drafting to execution, performance monitoring, and renewal or termination.
- Core focus on sourcing for innovation which includes materials, sub-contractors, equipment, processes, solutions and design.
- Optimizing all sourcing procedures to attain maximum efficiency, estimate potential risks and apply risk-minimizing techniques.
- Plan and manage the company’s supply portfolio and sourcing strategy, negotiate with suppliers in achieving long term benefit in terms of quality, cost and delivery.
- To drive continuous improvement, best value and quality improvements within the team and departments in challenging existing practices and actively seek ways to achieve better outcomes, contributing to ensure key performance and financial targets are met and corrective action taken where necessary.
- To leverage resources across all boundaries to support business goals, bringing all expertise necessary to address the institutions challenges to safeguard against contractual and commercial risk.
- To report to the Management and respective committees as may be required from time to time to provide up to date status reports on procurement to include development, demonstrate value for money and compliance to regulatory procurement requirements, including Anti Bribery and Corruption and Fraud.
- To ensure all aspects of regulatory compliance are adhered to with regards to the respective Procurement Policies and external requirements such as OJEU procedures and implement strategies that safeguard the Falmouth Exeter Plus and the institution’s contractual and commercial risk.
- To develop excellent and effective collaborative relationships with key stakeholders and external providers and other agencies to ensure strategic and operational needs are fully understood and incorporated.
- To lead and motivate staff and ensure that they receive appropriate support, training, and development to achieve their potential.
- To identify and address procurement training needs for the group of businesses, establishing and managing future demand and capacity planning including the development to supplier risk management.
- Promote importance of procurement across for the group and best practice through continuous improvement.
- Act as the principal conduit for formal communications with external companies during the procurement process.
- Facilitate development of relationship with existing and potential suppliers.
- Work closely with R&D and operations to identify gaps/opportunities as part of continuous improvement efforts. Support R&D/Product Management on component selection
- Uphold and observe corporate governance and compliance to promote awareness and transparency.
- Any other ad-hoc projects assigned by immediate reporting.
Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Supply Chain Management.
- At least 5 years proven work experience at similar capacity in procurement, sourcing, managing an international / global sourcing & logistic team.
- Preferably working experience in manufacturing, mechanical or electro- mechanical industries.
- Meticulous, systematic, organizes, proactive, good understanding of sourcing dynamics and sound business judgement
- Having experience in sourcing vendors in particular areas of NTM, Raw material and Chemical is a plus.
- Able to work in fast pace and stressful environment independently.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills including negotiating and contracting.
- Experience of developing and managing team members.
- Good level networking and liaison skills and the provide ability to meet deadlines and targets.
