Senior Process Engineer, Industrial Engineering (IE)

Role Purpose

• Conceptualize, develop, implement and release production processes during Product Engineering Process (PEP) and Product Transfer Process (PTP) projects within required quality, costs and timeline.
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) function under the Industrial Engineering (IE) SEA organization.
• Support continuous improvement in production processes within the production organization.

Role Responsibilities

• Industrialize new product or transfer current products between locations according to company initiatives (PEP and PTP) – from Conceptual to Development and then Implementation phases to ensure that products meet the quality target.
• Within PEP/PTP, perform End-to-End Process Engineering tasks:
• Plan and manage own budget (working hours), timeline & communicate with Supply Chain project leader
• Discuss the design & production process concept (DFM / DFA)
• Participate actively in Risk Assessment (P-FMEA or similar tools)
• Select suitable technology, perform feasibility studies and prepare a process qualification plan
• Technical management of reliability test & qualification process with Quality department
• Prepare machine requirements, develop the process parameters, evaluate and qualify different materials, create work instructions
• Perform machine, fixture and process releases using standard methodology (MSA, capability studies) and software (e.g. Minitab, qs-STAT)
• Request, consult and release fixtures which impact product/process quality
• Prepare new machine set-up, operation, maintenance procedures
• Perform prototype build, follow-up pilot run and troubleshoot process problems during the build
• Define the critical process parameters, prepare process control plan, and provide training to staff

Responsibilities

• Lead CIF-Projects to solve recurring production issues on demand, including data analysis, reporting progress, and communication/escalation when targets cannot be met
• As a Subject Matter Expert, test, trial and qualify new material, machines and technology under guidance of the Technology Development department
• Participate in Global Expert Team meetings representing the department and local production subsidiary
• Act as Local Technology Owner (LTO) for the local production subsidiary to escalate local issues to the Global Technology Owner (GTO) and roll out new solutions
• Summarize, report and structure problem solving to address product/process issues during PEP/PTP/CIF projects
• Discuss product design concepts during PEP/PTP/CIF projects, enforce product-related process design rules
• Lead Customer Application (CA) projects End-to-End, solving process and build-related issues

Role Requirements

• Minimum a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechatronics / Electronic / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent; Master’s Degree is an added advantage
• Business fluent English (written and spoken) and good communication skills
• Minimum 8 years of industry experience in related field, with proven record in NPI projects, and at least 5 years in Process Engineering
• Industry experience and hands-on in the following technologies and setting up machine programs:
• Through-hole Technology
• Fluid Dispensing Technology
• Plastic Welding / Joining Technology
• Laser-related Technology
• Moulding Technology
• Cable Harnessing Technology
• Winding Technology
• PCBA De-panelling
• Ink Printing
• Knowledge of DOE, SPC, APQP, DFSS, and SPC-based parameter interrelations
• Hands-on experience with Minitab, JMP or QS-stat for process development is an advantage
• Knowledge and experience in FMEA and control plans
• Experience in automation projects for production/assembly is an advantage
