A leading petrochemical company in Indonesia is seeking an experienced Project Manager / Senior Manager to oversee end-to-end project development for large-scale petrochemical expansion projects worth a minimum of USD 100 million. The ideal candidate should have over 10 years of experience in project management, with a proven track record in managing large capital projects and strong stakeholder management skills. This role requires excellent leadership abilities and a focus on compliance and safety standards.
The Project Manager / Senior Manager will be responsible for leading end-to-end project development and execution for large-scale petrochemical expansion projects with a minimum project value of USD 100 million. This role will oversee feasibility studies, front-end engineering, EPC coordination, project governance, risk management, and stakeholder engagement to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards.
The position plays a critical role in driving business growth through successful project execution, asset expansion, and operational readiness.
Lead greenfield and brownfield petrochemical expansion projects from concept, feasibility, FEED, EPC, commissioning, to handover.
Conduct technical and commercial feasibility studies, CAPEX estimation, project valuation, and investment justification for projects valued ≥ USD 100 million.
Support business cases, project approval documents, and presentations to senior management and investors.
Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
Oversee EPC contractors, licensors, consultants, and vendors to ensure alignment with project objectives.
Monitor project progress, manage risks, control costs, and resolve technical or execution issues proactively.
Ensure adherence to HSSE, quality, and regulatory compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
Act as the primary liaison with internal stakeholders, joint venture partners, licensors, regulators, and contractors.
Lead project governance processes including stage‑gate reviews, reporting, and approvals.
Provide regular progress reports, risk assessments, and mitigation plans to senior leadership.
Support tendering, contractor selection, contract negotiation, and contract administration.
Manage change orders, claims, and variations to minimize project risks and cost overruns.
Lead and mentor cross‑functional project teams including engineering, procurement, construction, finance, and operations.
Promote a strong project management culture, safety mindset, and execution excellence.
Master’s degree (MBA or Engineering) is an advantage.
Project Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2) is preferred.
Minimum 10–15 years of experience in project development and project management within the petrochemical, refinery, chemical, or oil & gas industry.
Proven track record leading large‑scale capital projects with a minimum value of USD 100 million.
Strong experience in FEED, EPC/EPCM project execution, and commissioning.
Solid understanding of process technology, plant design, CAPEX estimation, and project valuation.
Experience working with international EPC contractors and technology licensors is highly desirable.
Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
