As a Payroll Specialist, you’ll help ensure GitLab team members are paid accurately and on time by managing the details behind our payroll operations. You’ll be a key point of contact for questions across all levels of the company, using tools like Workday, ADP, and ServiceNow to research and resolve issues, maintain precise payroll records, and support critical processes such as year‑end tax forms, garnishments, and employment verifications. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with HR, Legal, Finance, and Operations, contribute to process improvements in a global, all‑remote environment, and play a direct part in creating a reliable, transparent payroll experience that supports GitLab's results‑driven culture.
The Payroll team at GitLab is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing for GitLab team members across multiple regions, supporting our all‑remote, asynchronous way of working. You’ll join a cross‑functional group that partners closely with HR, Legal, Finance, and Operations to maintain payroll data integrity, manage time tracking and garnishments, respond to internal and external inquiries, and support key activities like year‑end tax reporting. The team is focused on scaling processes, improving documentation, and using tools such as Workday, ADP, and ServiceNow to deliver a reliable, transparent payroll experience that enables GitLab team members to focus on co‑creating the future.
