Ensures that all restoration, conservation, ANR/ARR, peatland rehabilitation, nursery, biodiversity monitoring and fire-prevention activities are planned, resourced, and executed efficiently across PT-level concessions. The role converts strategic targets into operational work plans and ensures high-quality performance through structured monitoring, reporting, and vendor quality control.
Job Description
Operational Planning for Conservation, Rehabilitation & Target Setting
- Develop annual and 5-year planting, rehabilitation, and conservation plans at concession/PT level aligned with Verra methodologies (VCS/CCB), NbS frameworks, and applicable forestry regulations.
- Consolidate resource requirements (seedlings, labor, equipment, logistics, budget).
- Integrate landcover mapping, accessibility, ecological sensitivity, and topography into planning scenarios.
- Translate operational planning into managed dashboard.
- Support Concession Site Manager in RKU and RKT development that suits each concession business plan.
Progress Monitoring & Reporting
- Track and analyze key performance indicators including planting progress, nursery output, peat restoration structures, fire-prevention readiness, forest patrol, biodiversity performance, and seedling survival rates.
- Report progress, risks, and mitigation measures to management on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Monitor operational resource utilization and budget execution.
Field Control
- Coordinate and supervise field teams and technical partners to ensure execution adheres to approved work plans, timelines, budgets, and operational quality standards.
- Audit vendor performance, including workforce tracking, seedling delivery accuracy, compliance with quality specifications, and contractual alignment.
- Verify peat and hydrological infrastructure functionality (e.g., canal blocks, dams).
- Assess fire-prevention readiness including equipment functionality, patrol logs, and emergency response standards.
Access & Logistics Coordination
- Coordinate road access, temporary nurseries, transport planning, and equipment mobilization.
- Resolve field-level operational constraints with PT teams and contractors.
- Produce QC findings and ensure timely closure of corrective action plans with responsible teams.
- Support operational efficiency initiatives (cost per hectare reduction, survival improvement).
- Identify bottlenecks and propose operational solutions.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Forestry, Environmental Science, Ecology, or a related discipline (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in forestry, restoration/reforestation, conservation, silviculture operations or landscape sustainability operations, ideally within peatland or forest ecosystems.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to think strategically, anticipate needs, and propose improvements beyond assigned tasks. Having agile mindset.
- Demonstrated experience in planning, executing, and monitoring large-scale restoration or conservation programs.
- Proven capability in supervising field teams, contractors, and external partners, with strong coordination, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Familiarity with carbon certification standards (VCS, CCB, Gold Standard) and working knowledge of GIS (QGIS/ArcGIS) tools and Drone operation is a strong advantage.
- Having certification of Ganish Canhut is an advantage.
- Able to travel to remote areas frequently (>50%).
- Willing to be placed in Head Office Jakarta (Thamrin).
