Key Responsibilities
- Lead planning, execution, and supervision of topographic and bathymetric surveys using advanced geodetic and hydrographic equipment (e.g., GNSS RTK, multibeam echo sounders, total stations).
- Develop detailed survey methodologies and operational plans aligned with project objectives and safety regulations.
- Manage survey teams, providing technical mentorship, performance monitoring, and training.
- Oversee data processing, analysis, and interpretation using specialized software
- Coordinate closely with project managers, dredging operators, reclamation engineers, and external stakeholders to ensure survey data supports all project phases.
- Conduct quality control and assurance checks on survey data and deliverables, ensuring adherence to ISO, QHSE, and client standards.
- Prepare and review comprehensive technical reports, volume calculations, progress updates, and as-built documentation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical challenges related to geospatial data acquisition and processing.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure compliance with all relevant environmental and maritime surveying standards.
- Stay updated on latest technologies, standards, and best practices in geodesy and hydrographic surveying to drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (S1) in Geodesy, Geomatics Engineering, or related field is required.
- Master’s degree (S2) in Geodesy, Marine Engineering, Geomatics, or related discipline is preferred and considered an advantage.
- Proficient in operating geodetic and hydrographic survey instruments.
- Skilled in survey data processing and CAD software.
- Good understanding of geodetic engineering principles, marine surveying, and geospatial reference systems.
- Willing to work on-site with a rotational work schedule.
Additional (Preferred) Qualifications
- Certified Competent Surveyor (BNSP/LSP) or other relevant certification.
- Familiar with ISO standards and QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, Environment) systems in maritime construction projects.
- Bachelor’s degree with minimum 7 years of relevant experience OR Master’s degree with minimum 5 years of relevant experience in marine engineering projects, including leadership roles.
- Advanced proficiency in hydrographic survey software and applications.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
- Proven ability to resolve complex surveying and geospatial issues in marine environments.
- Skilled in preparing and reviewing detailed technical reports, proposals, and compliance documentation.
