Job summary

A global engineering firm in Indonesia is looking for an experienced Survey Engineer to set up and operate survey equipment for complex projects. Ideal candidates will have at least 3 years of offshore experience in marine geophysical or subsea positioning, along with a university degree in electronic or electrical engineering. Responsibilities include supervising junior team members and compiling engineering reports.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years offshore experience in marine geophysical survey acquisition or marine subsea construction.
  • Familiarity with surface and subsea positioning systems.
  • Experience with subsea analogue or digital seismic survey data acquisition systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate survey equipment on medium to high complexity projects.
  • Execute positioning, navigation, and data acquisition tasks.
  • Supervise and train junior team members.
  • Compile engineering/survey reports and ensure data quality control.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the set-up and operation of survey equipment on, and/or leading, projects of medium to high complexity.
  • This may include responsibility for the execution of some positioning and navigation and data acquisition tasks.
  • Ultimately responsible for: the set-up, interfacing, networking, testing, operation, repair, and maintenance of survey equipment; the compilation of engineering/survey reports; and the appropriate QC of data and reports.
  • Responsible for all engineering-related aspects of the project, including the supervision/training of more junior team members.
Requirements

Preference will be given to candidates who:

  • Has a university degree in electronic or electrical engineering
  • Proven offshore experience (3 years min) in either marine geophysical (analogue and / or digital) survey acquisition, or marine subsea construction / positioning – or preferably both. It is expected that this would have been in support of the marine oil & gas, offshore wind farm, hydrographic, or submarine cable industries.
  • Proven experience with surface and subsea positioning systems as a minimum, and preferably also subsea analogue or digital seismic survey data acquisition systems.
  • AUV operational and payload systems experience is highly desirable.
  • Good ability in verbal and written English (technical) language is required.
