Job summary

An International Consulting Firm is seeking a Community Engagement Lead in Indonesia. About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and strategic Community Engagement Lead to strengthen community-level protection initiatives and support efforts that help vulnerable groups access justice and legal remedies. This role will guide program strategies, build partnerships, equip local organizations, and develop best practices that improve community legal empowerment across multiple regions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of community engagement strategies within protection programs.
  • Design and support interventions that strengthen community groups and leaders working to prevent exploitation.
  • Create tools, training materials, and knowledge products for staff and partner organizations.
  • Ensure all activities follow organizational safeguarding and ethical standards.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with NGOs, coalitions, community networks, and government stakeholders.
  • Support communications efforts by preparing key messages, briefs, and content related to community engagement work.
  • Coach and mentor staff and partners, strengthening local capacity and promoting sustainable community initiatives.
  • Contribute to monitoring, evaluation, and research to measure program outcomes and improve strategies.
  • Supervise designated team members and provide guidance to community engagement focal points.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience supporting community access to justice or legal remedies.
  • Proven experience forming or developing community-based groups or coalitions.
  • Experience with issues related to human rights and trafficking or forced labor is an advantage.
  • Strong communication skills written and verbal.
  • Fluency in English and the Bahasa Indonesia language.
  • Demonstrated ability to train, mentor, and support teams and partners.
  • Cross-cultural experience; prior work in Southeast Asia preferred.
  • High integrity, strong interpersonal skills, and a results-driven mindset.
