Brokerage Operations Associate, ACATS (USA) — Remote - United States

Your Role: This role supports the Fintech broker-dealer operations focused on ACAT transfers. The team is 100% distributed and remote, and the position reports to one of the Firm’s Directors of Operations.
Things You Get To Do
- Work with and provide assistance to internal and external customers on incoming and outgoing Account Transfer Requests.
- Assist with rebuilding and formalizing procedures for the transfer process to ensure business continuity.
- Assist the Director in processing ACAT transfers in/out activity and prepare for transition to self-clearing in DTCC.
- Handle communications with Contra firms and Transfer Agents.
- Process Mass Account Transfers/Conversions (internal and external).
- Serve as the Firm's Subject Matter Expert on transfers do's and don'ts.
- Research and respond to inquiry tickets regarding Account Transfers.
- Ensure ACAT requests are processed within the firm's timelines and in accordance with industry guidelines.
- Be familiar with ACAT systems (NSCC), regulations and industry practices governing ACAT and non-ACAT transfers.
- Identify documentation/processing irregularities and outline corrective measures.
- Assist with documenting procedures and updating processes as needed.
- Process ACAT free deliveries and fail reversals (FRVs).
- Work cross-functionally to create efficient operational processes and reduce risk of control and quality issues.
- Drive continuous operational improvement, update the control framework, and perform root cause and trend analysis of operational issues.
- Support policy frameworks and be a point of contact for policy-related queries.
- Assist in automating daily self-clearing processes, collaborating with engineering.
- Prepare summary documentation/work papers for special projects or observations and submit to management for review.
- Participate in projects as needed and perform other duties as assigned.
Who You Are (Must-Haves)
- 2+ years of ACATS experience
- Knowledge of Brokerage Clearing operations
- Knowledge of financial industry rules, regulations and laws
- General knowledge of U.S. securities back-office operations of a broker-dealer and/or carrying firm
- Ability to identify relationships, draw logical conclusions, and interpret results for decision making
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently with attention to detail and as part of a team
- Provide insights to continuously improve client experience and efficiency
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities

- Ability to work in a remote environment
- Basic knowledge of SQL, Metabase, or other database coding language
- Familiarity with Microsoft and Google document/spreadsheet tools
- Flexibility to assist other functional areas when necessary

- Ability to adapt to the evolving regulatory landscape of the financial industry
- Series SIE and 99 (or higher) securities license, or plan to pass the 99 within 180 days of employment
Nice-to-Haves
- Associate’s degree in a business-related field and 5+ years of ACATS, cash and securities reconciliation, accounting, banking, or financial services experience
- Series 7
- Experience processing ACATs on DTCC’s portal
