Contracting Empire is a digital marketing agency that helps contractors across the U.S. grow through SEO, websites, paid ads, and branding.
We're looking for a brand & marketing creative designer who thrives on clarity, structure, and people, someone who can bring order to chaos, own the flow of projects, and create space for the rest of our team to do deep, creative work.
You'll become the bridge between our internal team and our clients, leading projects from kickoff to launch, ensuring everyone stays aligned and our clients feel seen, supported, and excited about working with us.
Training and support will be provided; we’ll set you up for success. All you need is ambition and the right soft skills; we’ll take care of the rest.
Responsibilities
- Interest in image ads, website building, and publishing (we can help with the training).
- Knowledge of print production
- Deliver regular updates and progress reports in a friendly but professional tone
- Track design tasks in Basecamp/Google Drive and ensure on-time delivery
- Communicate with team members daily via Discord
- Create and refine brand assets for contractor clients (logos, color palettes, typography, brand guidelines).
- Ensure consistency of visual identity across all deliverables (print, web, ads, social).
- Design engaging and conversion-oriented website layouts and landing pages in collaboration with copywriters and developers.
- Prepare mockups/wireframes in tools like Figma/Adobe XD for client approval before development.
- Work with developers to ensure designs translate correctly into functional websites.
- Optimize for mobile, speed, and user experience (UX best practices).
- Design ad creatives (Facebook/Instagram/Google Display ads, YouTube thumbnails, banners)
- Design direct response landing pages with a focus on conversions (forms, CTAs, layout).
- Create supporting assets for campaigns (brochures, EDDMs, yard signs, truck wraps, flyers).
Client-Facing Support
- Translate client feedback into polished design updates quickly and effectively.
- Present design concepts to clients, explaining design choices in clear, non-technical terms.
- Collaborate with project managers, copywriters, and SEO/ads specialists to deliver complete marketing campaigns.
Internal Contribution
- Maintain design templates and asset libraries to streamline recurring projects.
- Keep up with design/ads trends in the contractor and home services industry.
- Contribute creative ideas to improve client deliverables (e.g., suggesting new ad formats, visual approaches).
Requirements
- Fluent/native English – both written and spoken
- Comfortable leading client calls and team meetings
- (Optional but a plus) Knowledge of print production standards and digital design formats.
- Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS for web-related role. Advanced knowledge is a plus.
- Knowledge of UI/UX principles and best practices for conversion optimization
- Ability to translate concepts, briefs, and client input into visually appealing designs
- Proficiency with industry-standard design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, XD; Figma; Canva; etc).
- Skilled at using Google Drive, Loom, Discord, and other organizational tools that may come in handy
- Calm under pressure and clear in communication
- Obsessed with structure, checklists, and follow-through
- Proactive and self-led, you don’t wait to be told what’s broken and what needs to be done
- Ad design expertise: ability to create high-converting visuals for Facebook/Instagram/Google ads.
- Strong branding knowledge: capable of developing logos, truck wraps, yard signs, flyers, and brand guideline materials.
- Typography and layout skills: clear, bold, easy-to-read designs for contractors’ audiences.
- Basic marketing knowledge: understanding of how design impacts conversions, click-through rates, and SEO-friendly layouts.
Working Hours
Flexible schedule - you’ll be able to pick a regular start time between 08:00 and 10:00 local time, and then keep that as your daily routine
