Job Duties
  • Provide technical support, configuration, and administration for GGRFPDE applications such as:
    oSchlumberger (Petrel, Techlog, Eclipse, INTERSECT, PIPESIM)
    oHalliburton (Landmark EDM, OpenWorks, WellPlan, Compass, Nexus, DecisionSpace)
    oOther related petrotechnical and visualization tools.
  • Manage application lifecycle, including installation, patching, licensing, performance optimization, and upgrades.
  • Collaborate with geoscientists, reservoir engineers, and drilling engineers to troubleshoot workflow or data issues.
  • Support data management integration with corporate repositories (EDM, OpenWorks, PPDM, etc.).
  • Work closely with IT infrastructure teams on virtualization, storage, and HPC environments for optimal application performance.
  • Ensure application security, user access control, and compliance with corporate IT standards.
  • Coordinate with software vendors for incident resolution, feature enhancement, and maintenance renewals.
  • Document and improve standard operating procedures (SOPs) for application and workflow support.
  • Under general supervision, has good knowledge and understanding of applicable science and technology, gained through formal education and work experience.
  • Working with customers, demonstrates knowledge of existing and emerging technology and product areas.
  • Communicates to individual clients how the use of technology solutions to allow them to be more productive.
  • Is able to articulate and apply solution for assignment delivery as an individual contributes to project teams.
  • Effectively plans and manages own workload to meet desired service level targets.
  • Maintains a consistent client‑focused approach with clients and/or individuals.
  • Requires a minimum of an undergraduate degree in Petroleum Engineering, Geoscience, or related field and a minimum of 1 years of related experience.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's in Petroleum Engineering, Geoscience, or related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of professional experience in supporting or managing petrotechnical (GGRFPDE) applications.
  • Strong knowledge of subsurface workflows, data models, and industry standards.
  • Experience managing application servers, license servers, and integrated databases.
  • Familiarity with Windows Server, Linux (RHEL), virtualization (VMware), and HPC clusters.
  • Experience with Oracle/MS SQL databases, scripting (PowerShell, Python, Bash), and Active Directory integration.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively with technical and functional teams.
Preferred Experience
  • Prior experience in oil & gas operator or large‑scale service company (Halliburton, Schlumberger, Pertamina, etc.).
  • Hands‑on experience with EDM/EDT, DSIS, TNav, and DecisionSpace applications.
  • Exposure to cloud/hybrid application hosting.
  • Understanding of data governance, backup, and recovery for petrotechnical environments.
