Job Purpose

The Director, Category Management is responsible for the management of the vendor portfolio aligned to the Country Business Unit, plus new vendor identification and on-boarding, as well as other business development initiatives, to optimize results against the country Business Unit strategy. They work in close collaboration with the local Business Unit teams, influencing and driving revenue and market share growth through engagement and strategic planning. Takes full P&L ownership for Country level vendors and acts as the escalation and owner of key strategic and transformational plays at country level.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, own, and execute the vendor(s) strategy in full alignment with the agreed Business Unit strategy to grow profitable market share.
  • Manage the vendor portfolio of the Business Unit including new vendor identification and on-boarding and other business development initiatives to optimize results. P&L accountability for the Country level vendors.
  • Review, address, and own profitability issues in relation to the P&L target and achieve the assigned country revenue target.
  • Build, develop, retain, and engage direct report team, with a particular focus on leadership succession planning and talent development.
  • Align procurement and vendor strategies to ensure optimised availability, working capital and best trading terms and conditions.
  • Enable and help the sales teams to win and grow share of wallet and market share.
