A local charity organization is seeking volunteers to assist in running their charity shop. Responsibilities include helping customers, sorting donations, and maintaining cleanliness. Flexible shifts are available, requiring a commitment of 3 hours per week. Training will be provided, and expenses can be reimbursed with prior agreement. This is an unpaid role but offers valuable experience and community involvement.
The Volunteer Role
To support the Charity Shop Manager in running the local Salvation Army Charity shop
The time commitment is 3hrs per week and will be agreed with the Community Programme Coordinator, but we can be flexible to meet your circumstances. Shift pattern 10am-1pm or 1pm-4pm Monday to Saturday.
The Salvation Army provides an induction/basic volunteer training via I-Learn portal or at a training day as well as ongoing training as required. We also offer ‘taster’ sessions to see if our volunteer role is a good fit for your skills, experience and interests.
The role is unpaid, but reasonable expenses incurred can be paid with prior agreement of the Community Manager.
