A leading conservation charity in the UK is seeking volunteer gardeners to help maintain the beautiful gardens at Sheringham Park. Responsibilities include practical gardening tasks, engaging with visitors, and ensuring safety protocols are followed. Ideal for those who love nature and wish to make a difference in their community.
Role: If you love gardens, then you’ll know they need a lot of care and attention. Volunteer gardeners do practical work to help keep the gardens and parkland at Sheringham Park in peak condition and looking eye catching.
You will be helping the gardening and estate team with everyday practical tasks to keep the garden looking its best. Being a friendly face for visitors and answering any questions. Helping with projects like new planting, clearing overgrown areas and other seasonal tasks.
You are important in making sure things run as smoothly as safely as possible – this includes getting to know health and safety and evacuation procedures. There might occasionally be some other activities that are of interest to you, that we could use your help with. Being part of a team that may need to adapt to changing circumstances.
Volunteering hours vary depending on the role and our opening times. We aim to be as flexible as possible and can discuss more with those interested in the role.
At the National Trust we protect and care for places so people and nature can thrive. We look after hundreds of houses and close to a million objects, along with vast areas of coastline, countryside, and green spaces, for everyone’s benefit. With our staff, members, volunteers, and supporters, we’re the biggest conservation charity in Europe. Everyone can get involved, everyone can make a difference.
