A major conservation charity in the UK is seeking volunteers to engage children and young people in nature and cultural heritage. The role involves supporting various activities such as family events and community groups to champion conservation aims. Flexible volunteer hours are available, and a Disclosure & Barring Service Check is required before starting. Interested individuals can apply via the Volunteer Hub.
Role: Are you passionate about engaging children and young people in nature and cultural heritage? Do you believe in ensuring all younger generations feel welcome and included? Volunteer to help inspiring the National Trust’s supporters of the future.
Responsibilities include supporting or leading a variety of activities and projects with or for children & young people such as family events, family and youth volunteering, school engagement and careers engagement. As part of the recruitment process for this role, a Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) Check is required before starting with us. Volunteers may work with partners and community groups who engage children & young people, such as Duke of Edinburgh, Scouts/Guides and youth clubs. You will champion the National Trust’s core aims of conserving nature, beauty and history for everyone, for ever, be a friendly face and ambassador for the National Trust, and be part of a team that may need to adapt in response to local needs, National Trust priorities or changes to government guidelines (e.g., Covid).
Volunteering hours vary depending on the role and our opening times. We aim to be as flexible as possible and can discuss more with those interested in the role.
At the National Trust we protect and care for places so people and nature can thrive. We look after hundreds of houses and close to a million objects, along with vast areas of coastline, countryside, and green spaces, for everyone’s benefit. With our staff, members, volunteers, and supporters, we’re the biggest conservation charity in Europe. Everyone can get involved, everyone can make a difference.
