Job description

Senior Business Development Manager, New Product Launch
Central London, Borough (Hybrid)

Our Story

Worldwide Events is the parent company behind two highly successful event brands: M&I and Private Luxury Events, each serving distinct sectors of the global travel and events industry. We bring people together and facilitate strong relationships, connecting people on a human level first, business second. We call this H2H connection, and it is at the heart of everything we do. At Private Luxury Events, we’re not just creating events, we create moments that connect, inspire, and redefine luxury travel. As pioneers in crafting extraordinary experiences, we’ve been uniting leaders and trend‑setters in the travel and events industry for over 20 years in unforgettable destinations around the world. Our experiences are where innovation meets authenticity, and where the next generation of luxury travel connections begins. We’re unveiling something extraordinary; a major new event designed for a new generation of travel leaders. More than an event, it’s a movement redefining how innovation, experience, and connection come together in the global travel space. To make this ambitious vision a reality, we’re assembling a team of innovators and creative disruptors who are ready to make a monumental impact. If you’re a driven professional with a passion for pioneering new frontiers and building something extraordinary from the ground up, this is your opportunity to join a team that’s set to revolutionise the industry.

The Role

We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Business Development Manager to support the commercial launch and growth of a new event within the Private Luxury portfolio. In this role, you will help execute the commercial vision for the new product, working closely with senior leadership to translate strategic goals into effective, market‑ready commercial action. You will play an important hands‑on role in driving exhibitor acquisition, building relationships across key global regions, and supporting the event’s successful introduction to the market. You will also oversee and guide two Business Development Managers, ensuring they have the structure, direction, and coaching required to meet commercial expectations. This position is ideal for someone who brings commercial strength, strong relationship‑building abilities, and a passion for developing new initiatives — but who thrives most when supporting and implementing strategic direction rather than setting it.

Key Responsibilities

New Product Launch Support

  • Support senior leadership in delivering the commercial plan for launching a new luxury event within the Private Luxury portfolio.
  • Translate strategic objectives into actionable sales plans for you and your BDM team.
  • Help develop market positioning, target exhibitor lists, and participation criteria for launch year.
  • Conduct market, competitor, and client research to inform decision‑making and refine the commercial approach.
  • Work collaboratively with marketing, operations, and buyer relations to ensure cohesive product rollout and alignment to leadership’s strategic direction.

Regional Market Development

  • Drive commercial growth across your assigned global regions by securing new exhibitors and strengthening relationships with existing partners.
  • Identify and develop opportunities with luxury hotels, DMCs, tourism boards, and high‑end travel brands.
  • Provide regional insights and feedback that help shape ongoing strategic updates from leadership.
  • Represent the new product in market through sales trips, meetings, and industry events.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Manage and support two Business Development Managers, ensuring they understand goals and hit performance targets.
  • Provide coaching, direction, and day‑to‑day support to improve sales effectiveness and consistency.
  • Monitor activity levels, pipelines, and progress, ensuring alignment with senior leadership’s strategic expectations.
  • Lead by example to enhance commercial discipline, CRM accuracy, and strong relationship management across the team.

Commercial Execution & Reporting

  • Own commercial delivery for your assigned regions and contribute to the overall revenue targets for the new event.
  • Manage accurate pipeline development, forecasting, and KPI tracking in Salesforce.
  • Provide regular commercial updates and insights that support senior leadership in ongoing strategic decision‑making.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to optimise exhibitor experience, retention, and commercial outcomes.

Event Participation & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Represent the new product and broader Private Luxury Events portfolio at exhibitions, industry gatherings, and networking forums.
  • Lead commercial meetings and relationship‑building opportunities during event cycles.
  • Support your BDM team’s engagement with clients during events to ensure a strong commercial presence.

CRM & Process Management

  • Maintain accurate commercial data and forecasting within Salesforce.
  • Ensure your team follows consistent CRM processes and best practice in reporting.
  • Create clear, structured updates and analysis to support leadership’s understanding of commercial performance.

You are a commercially strong relationship‑builder who enjoys rolling up your sleeves and bringing strategic direction to life. You thrive in a collaborative environment, understand how to work within a luxury global landscape, and bring experience developing strong market connections. You’ll bring:

  • Proven track record in business development or sales within luxury travel, hospitality, lifestyle, or events.
  • Experience supporting commercial or product launches — with an understanding of how to execute leadership‑led strategies.
  • Experience managing or mentoring team members.
  • Strong regional market knowledge and an established network within luxury travel or lifestyle sectors.
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence engaging senior decision‑makers.
  • A proactive, organised, and commercially driven approach.
  • Strong presentation and negotiation capabilities.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience across multiple global markets.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce (or similar CRM tools).
  • Strong skills with Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams.
  • Experience supporting virtual or hybrid commercial initiatives.
  • Additional language skills.

Join us, and you’ll be part of a team that’s shaping the future of the global travel industry. At Private Luxury Events, you’ll find more than a job—you’ll find an opportunity to make a lasting impact. As an employee with Private Luxury Events, you will:

  • £93,000 OTE, including performance‑based incentives and an attractive compensation package.
  • 36 days of paid holiday (including bank holidays), with additional days awarded for length of service.
  • Receive £50/month contribution towards Bupa private health insurance, starting after probation.
  • Access confidential 24/7 support through Health Assured’s Employee Assistance Programme, covering mental health, wellbeing, financial guidance and life changes.
  • Benefit from extended maternity leave and enhanced paternity leave to support growing families.
  • Team members have the exciting opportunity to travel the world, providing support at our events.
  • Start your weekend early with a 4 pm Friday finish!
