Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Engineer to play a key role in high-profile fabrication projects of national importance. This role offers the chance to influence complex engineering activities while working alongside experienced professionals in a large, advanced fabrication environment.

The Role

As a Project Engineer, you will support the planning, coordination and delivery of pre-planned fabrication projects. Working closely with the Project Manager and fabrication teams, you will ensure technical specifications, resources and schedules are aligned for successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop detailed project plans including schedules, resource allocation and budget considerations
  • Provide technical guidance by reviewing and refining engineering drawings and specifications
  • Coordinate materials, tools and equipment required for fabrication activities
  • Monitor, maintain and report on project progress, performance and financial status
  • Identify potential project bottlenecks and implement corrective actions
  • Complete all associated project documentation and support project close-out processes, including wash-up meetings

  • A high-bay construction hall for new builds
  • A panel line, profile cutting and sub-assembly areas

What We're Looking For
  • Proficiency in MS Office and project planning tools (e.g., MS Project)
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Experience within engineering, structural engineering, shipbuilding, or a related heavy-fabrication environment
  • HNC/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of project management principles
