A UK-based university is seeking a Senior Management Accountant to provide a business partnering service and support non-Finance departments. The successful candidate will act as a deputy to the Financial Controller, contribute to strategic financial thinking, and assist in launching a new School of Medicine. The Business support team is looking for a qualified and highly motivated individual to join the team. The successful candidate will be a qualified and experienced accountant with a pro‑active and confident outlook and a proven ability to develop strong working relationships within an organisation.
The Senior Management Accountant is a key interface between the Finance and other University departments and is responsible for providing a business partnering service to non‑Finance departments, ensuring these departments receive an effective and efficient service in terms of the generation, distribution and understanding of financial‑related management information. This role will play a key role in the launch of our new School of Medicine in September 2026.
Whilst reporting to the Financial Controller, for whom the Senior Management Accountant will act as a deputy, the postholder will have a high degree of autonomy, actively contributing to financial and strategic thinking. The Senior Management Accountant is expected to develop strong working relationships with Heads of Faculties / Services and their staff with delegated financial responsibility, providing advice to Faculties/Services on their overall financial strategy and responsibilities and on the appropriate tools for effective resource management.
