Job summary
A logistics company is looking for a Transport Planner / Shipping Coordinator to join their team in Derby. In this fully onsite role, you will manage customer shipments across the UK and Europe, ensuring that all details are accurate and deadlines are met. The ideal candidate will have strong organisational skills, high attention to detail, and be proficient in Microsoft Excel. Experience with SAP and knowledge of logistics processes are desirable. This role offers a 12-month contract with rotating shifts.
Qualifications
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
- High level of attention to detail, particularly in pressurised environments.
- Confident using Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive, team-focused attitude.
Responsibilities
- End-to-end planning and coordination of customer shipments.
- Ensuring correct paperwork is matched to the correct carrier and customer.
- Creation and management of shipping labels using SAP and shipping systems.
- Liaising with internal teams, customers, and transport carriers to meet deadlines.
- Completing export and shipping documentation.
- End-of-day shipping activity, including European declarations.
- Supporting freight invoice processing and resolving discrepancies.
- Maintaining accurate records and spreadsheets with a strong focus on detail.

We are looking for a highly organised and detail-focused Transport Planner / Shipping Coordinator to join a friendly and supportive logistics team based at the East Midlands Gateway.
This is a key operational role, responsible for planning and coordinating outbound customer shipments to destinations across the UK and Europe.
This opportunity would suit someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in accuracy, and wants to develop their experience within transport, shipping, or logistics operations. Full training and clear work instructions will be provided.
- End-to-end planning and coordination of customer shipments
- Ensuring correct paperwork is matched to the correct carrier and customer
- Creation and management of shipping labels using SAP and shipping systems
- Liaising with internal teams, customers, and transport carriers to meet time-critical deadlines
- Completing export and shipping documentation (including labels and shipping notes)
- End-of-day shipping activity, including European declarations and carrier pre-alerts
- Supporting freight invoice processing and resolving discrepancies
- Maintaining accurate records and spreadsheets, with a strong focus on detail

This is a fully onsite role, working a rotating shift pattern once trained:
- Shift 1: Mon–Thu 08:30–16:30 | Fri 08:30–16:00
- Shift 2: Mon–Thu 10:30–18:30 | Fri 11:00–18:30
