A leading trading company in London is seeking a motivated Steel Trader to manage the importing and selling of steel products from Asia to Europe. The ideal candidate is fluent in Japanese and English, with strong negotiation skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. The role offers a competitive salary up to £40k plus bonuses, and it requires the right to work in the UK.

A Japanese trading company is looking for a motivated and dynamic Steel Trader who can establish and maintain strong relationships with customers while driving business development. This role will be in charge of importing steel products from Asia, and selling them in Europe and the UK. The ideal candidate will have solid trade knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a keen interest in the steel trading industry. A willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment is essential.

- TYPE: Permanent, full-time
- WORKING HOURS: Monday to Friday 8:45-17:00 (1 hour lunch break)
- SALARY: up to £40k + bonus
- START: ASAP
- LOCATION: London (Zone 1)
- BENEFIT: Transportation fee up to zone4
- Sales and purchase of steel materials
- Market research
- Finding new suppliers and customers
- Negotiating contracts (both internally and with clients)
- Customer service of handling any problems that may arise
- Business trips to continental Europe
- UK Driving Licence
- Knowledge of import & export
- Business level fluency in Japanese & English
- Experience working in a Japanese corporate environment
- Proficiency in PC skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Motivated with a passion to develop their skills
- The ability to learn and adapt quickly to environments and changing markets
- Team player but also able to take the initiative to move on an individual level
- Being able to work under pressure, managing time efficiently and prioritising effectively
- Experience in a similar B2B sales role
- Fluency in another language would be beneficial – Italian, German, or Spanish etc
- Trade-related experience or knowledge of trade
