Join a collaborative team focused on practical solutions and employee ownership benefits.
Thomason Partnership Limited - Award-winning Employee-Owned Construction Consultancy
Senior Legal Advisor – Construction Consultancy
Competitive Salary | Flexible Part-Time Opportunity
Established in 1947, Thomason Partnership is a leading independent multi-disciplinary construction consultancy. As an Employee-Owned Trust since 2020, our 75-strong team operates from seven UK offices across Manchester, London, Liverpool, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Birmingham, and Newcastle.
We have in-depth experience across many different sectors, and are especially well-known for our expertise in complex civil & structural engineering, building facades, defect diagnosis, insurance claims and historic buildings.
We\'re seeking a Senior Legal Advisor for a newly created role navigating the evolving construction legal landscape, particularly the Building Safety Act 2022.
This is genuinely flexible – part-time (potentially 3 days per week) and mainly remote working if desired. Monthly office attendance is expected but location isn\'t a barrier with seven offices available.
You\'ll review and refine consultancy appointment documents, ensure Building Safety Act 2022 compliance, and mitigate contractual risks while maintaining commercial viability. Supporting pragmatic contract negotiations will be a key part of your role.
Your responsibilities include developing in-house compliance policies, integrating legal requirements into our Quality Management System, building competency frameworks, and advising Directors on varied legal and regulatory matters.
We need someone with a law degree (LLB) or equivalent construction industry legal experience, plus 5+ years in contract management and compliance within construction. Strong construction law understanding and a commercial mindset are crucial.
We value a collaborative approach with sensible, practical solutions, self-motivation and independence, strong communication skills, and commercial awareness with attention to detail.
We offer a competitive salary, Employee-Owned Trust profit distribution, 8% pension contribution, private healthcare, and 5x salary life insurance. We provide a laptop and mobile, and cover parking costs when you\'re in the office.
You\'ll enjoy genuine flexibility with part-time, remote, and hybrid working options, 25-days annual leave (pro-rata for part-time) plus bank holidays, and access to all seven UK offices.
This role offers the rare combination of genuine flexibility, strategic influence in a successful business, employee ownership benefits and a collaborative culture.
For a detailed job specification and a confidential chat please contact Adam Zdravkovic at Think Legal Recruitment (working as exclusive consultants for this opportunity). Direct and third-party applications will be forwarded to Think Legal for consideration.
Thomason Partnership Limited is an equal opportunities employer. We welcome applications from all qualified candidates.
