Job summary
A leading engineering firm in Manchester is seeking a Project Manager to oversee and deliver water projects from design to completion. The successful candidate will manage project teams and ensure compliance with safety and delivery standards while fostering strong relationships with stakeholders. Experience in the water sector and proficiency in relevant software are crucial for this role. This position offers the chance to lead multidisciplinary teams and contribute to impactful projects.

We're looking for a Project Manager to take ownership of delivering both planned and reactive projects across north west region. You'll play a key role in building strong relationships with operational teams, supply chain partners, and fostering a collaborative, team-focused environment. This position involves managing the full lifecycle of water projects, from design through to delivery, with responsibility for a portfolio of smaller projects.
- Lead and develop multidisciplinary teams to achieve project goals.
- Oversee projects from start to finish, including design, procurement, assembly, commissioning, and handover.
- Ensure supply chain compliance with framework management plans.
- Drive a strong safety culture, aiming for zero Lost Time Incidents (LTI) and RIDDOR events.
- Maintain a commercial focus, challenging scope and selecting efficient delivery strategies.
- Engage stakeholders at both strategic and operational levels to secure support and manage impacts.
- Provide accurate and consistent reporting of project performance within framework systems.
- Identify and mitigate key project and programme risks early.
- Proven experience managing multidisciplinary projects (Civils and MEICA), ideally in the water sector.
- A strong track record of delivering project programmes successfully.
- Solid understanding of construction contract law and contract forms through experience and training.
- Ability to build trusted relationships with clients, supply chain partners, and internal teams.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, document control systems, and Primavera software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
