My Life was established in 2012 as a result of a group of people with disabilities and their families wanting something different to traditional types of health/social care services and wanting more choice and control over their own lives. Each person has their own dedicated team, delivering support that’s tailored specifically to their needs and preferences. *Sarah has a heart of gold and a passion for all things hair and beauty. She loves experimenting with makeup, hairstyling, and fashion, always looking for new ways to express herself. *Sarah is seeking a Personal Care Assistant who can be her cheerleader, a friend, and a creative collaborator as she navigates her daily life.
About the Role:
Your role will be to support *Sarah in her routines, help her stay active in the community, and empower her with the confidence she needs to live her best life. Your role will not only involve supporting her with day-to-day tasks but also encouraging her to shine and embrace her love for beauty.
Key Responsibilities:
• Daily Living Support: Assisting with personal care, meal prep, and light household tasks to help *Sarah stay comfortable.
• Beauty & Self-Care Sessions: Join in her beauty routines! Share makeup tips, try out new looks, and help *Sarah explore new ways to express herself.
• Social & Community Outings: Accompany *Sarah on shopping trips and community events – she loves meeting with her friends for a catch up over at Costa Coffee.
• Empowering & Encouraging: Support *Sarah’s confidence and self-esteem by helping her set and achieve personal goals.
• Health & Well-Being Monitoring: Keep an eye on *Sarah’s health, safety, and emotional well-being, and work closely with her and support network.
About You:
• Kind and Patient: You bring warmth, patience, and a caring approach to every interaction.
• Beauty Enthusiast: If you’re passionate about beauty, you’ll be the perfect partner for *Sarah’s creative side!
• Reliable Communicator: You’re able to communicate openly and positively with *Sarah and her wider support team.
• Experience in Care (Preferred but Not Required): Whether you have experience in support work or are new to the field, a positive attitude and willingness to learn are what matter most.
• Driver’s License Required: A license would be ideal to help *Sarah enjoy her outings and stay engaged in her community.
