Job summary
A recruitment agency is seeking a Safeguarding Lawyer in Essex who will manage legal cases related to social care and ensure compliance with relevant regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience in handling such cases and a strong understanding of equal opportunities and Health and Safety laws. This role includes collaboration with colleagues to meet service objectives and advising on various legal matters.

- Handle cases referred by senior legal staff, including court appearances and instructing counsel.
- Advise on various legal matters, both contentious and non-contentious.
- Assist in supervising and instructing other legal staff.
- Keep senior staff informed on case progress and assist with monitoring work.
- Act professionally and uphold standards for legal professionals.
- Ensure compliance with the council's Equal Opportunities Policy.
- Perform other related activities as agreed by senior management.
- Experience in handling legal cases related to social care.
- Knowledge of equal opportunities and anti-discrimination policies.
- Understanding of Health and Safety regulations.
- Ability to collaborate and meet service objectives.
- Professional conduct and adherence to legal standards.
- Experience in supervising legal staff.
- Familiarity with crime prevention strategies.
