Lead Environmental Consultant: Net-Zero & Permitting Lead
Job summary
A leading environmental consultancy in Knutsford is seeking a Lead Environmental Consultant to manage environmental services for clients transitioning to net-zero. The role involves providing regulatory advice, leading permitting applications, and preparing environmental assessments. Candidates should have a degree in an environmental discipline, significant consultancy experience, and strong communication skills. - Excellent knowledge of environmental legislation, policy and best practices.
- Professional affiliation or membership of an appropriate body.
- Significant experience in a consultancy environment or equivalent industry experience.
- Full UK driving licence and eligibility to live and work in the UK.
Responsibilities
- Provide regulatory advice and support implementation of IED, BAT and other mandatory directives.
- Lead permitting applications (SWIP, MCP) and manage specialist sub‑contractors.
- Scoping, preparation and submission of environmental assessments for planning, permits and regulatory reviews.
- Act as Technical Advisor on all environmental matters and maintain client confidence.
- Manage key performance indicators and resource allocation to deliver projects on time.
