In this hands‑on field role you’ll play a key part in delivering invasive species management services including coordinated baiting programs that protect our landscapes, support landholders and strengthen local biosecurity outcomes. Working closely with landholders, community groups and partner agencies you’ll help manage pest animals and plants to improve the health, productivity and sustainability of our region.

This position will deliver core biosecurity services to our ratepayers and customers including critical programs such as feral pig and deer control.

• Deliver and support regional pest animal management programs including coordinated baiting and trapping activities.
• Provide advice and assistance to landholders on pest and weed control measures.
• Undertake compliance and surveillance activities under the Biosecurity Act 2015.
• Maintain accurate field records and contribute to reporting and evaluation processes.
• Build relationships with local communities to support cooperative biosecurity outcomes.

• Relevant qualifications in biosecurity, pest management or related field.
• Current NSW Driver Licence and ability to travel.
• Eligibility to hold appropriate pesticide and firearms certifications.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

• To be considered for an ongoing appointment applicants must be ongoing at either an equivalent or higher grade than this advertised vacancy (LLS Grade 4 or Clerk 3 / 4) or on a current and valid talent pool at this grade or higher.
• Alternatively, if you do not meet the requirement for an ongoing appointment you may only be considered for a temporary appointment of up to 12 months.
