Senior Corporate Finance Accountant — Hybrid Role
Job summary
A public sector organization is seeking a Senior Accountant in the Corporate Services Division to provide financial advice and manage year-end accounting tasks. The ideal candidate will have experience in local government finance and be qualified or part-qualified in CIMA or CIPFA. The role is hybrid, requiring two days in the office weekly, and offers a competitive salary of £42,839‑£47,181 plus a £3,500 market supplement.
Qualifications
- Experience in a finance team within a Local Government setting.
- Qualified or Part-Qualified CIMA or CIPFA.
- Knowledge of VAT within local government taxation regime.
Responsibilities
- Provide effective financial advice to various stakeholders.
- Complete year-end accounting and final accounts.
- Aid in the completion of statutory final accounts.
- Acquire data for the Council's Medium-Term Financial Plan.
- Prepare activities associated with the Council's financial cycle.
