Salary - £47,180 - £61,330 (Depending on experience and suitability for the role)

Location - Reading / Basingstoke Area

As an Estate Strategy and Planning Specialist you will be part of a diverse team who are accountable for the long‑term capital plan and the prioritisation of this work against the demands of the AWE programme. This specific role directly supports the development of AWE's off‑site investments and plays a vital part in driving the business's strategic growth across the UK.

Key Accountabilities
  • Coordinate artefacts required to support investment decisions and support investment governance approvals.
  • Lead the requirements capture for specific areas of capital estate infrastructure, including identification of interfaces into wider estate and provide oversight for options appraisal.
  • Provide support to individual renewal and/or investment proposals as directed by the Estate Development Lead.
  • Maintain and promote high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security, and quality and be a team player.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Estate Development Lead to develop investment and renewals programme and supporting plans.
  • Provide business case, problem statements, requirements, options, and investments appraisal artefacts.
  • Perform data analysis of estate costs (operational and capital) and performance to support investment decisions.
  • Provide Strategy and Planning reports as required.
  • Undertake in depth reviews of business data to assist decision making (e.g. balance of investment).
  • Act as the coordinating interface for capital delivery projects on behalf of the Estate Development Lead with the wider Business SME's (Security, Commercial, ESH, IS)
  • The Company may require you to fulfil any other reasonable duties aligned to your position from time to time in line with business needs.

Whilst not to be considered a check list, candidates should be able to demonstrate some of the following:

  • HNC or equivalent in Engineering/Science/Business/Commercial/Real Estate discipline
  • Strong Leadership skills driving high performance.
  • Ability to identify problems, evaluate options and execute solutions and be comfortable dealing with ambiguity.
  • Corporate Strategy and business planning experience
  • Experience in leading, motivating a cross functional group / team to achieve a set goal.
  • Proven track record managing plans in complex investment environment.
  • Experience of developing and maintaining effective stakeholder relationships.
  • Highly analytical and strategic thinking
  • Proficient IT skills Microsoft Word and Excel
