Job summary

A public health services provider in Northern Ireland is seeking a dedicated individual for the role of team leader in public health nursing. The successful candidate will oversee the operational management and delivery of services for children, ensuring effective staffing, safeguarding, and budget management. With at least three years of experience as a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse, the role requires strong leadership skills and a commitment to community health initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Registered on Live NMC register Part 1 or 2 & Part 3 - Specialist Community Public Health Nurse.
  • Minimum 3 years as SCPHN managing a health visiting or school nursing caseload.

Job description

The post holder is responsible for the overall leadership, operational management and professional management of the public health nursing integrated team. The post holder will have responsibility for management, supervision, safeguarding, budgetary management, management of absence and will ensure the effective and efficient delivery of services for pre-school and school age children in line with local identified needs.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the operational management of an integrated skill mix team within Public Health Nursing.
  • Responsible for recruitment, selection and induction of staff, developmental reviews and personal development plans.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Registered on Live NMC register Part 1or 2 & Part 3 - Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN) - Health visiting or School nursing (HVible for the operational management of an integrated skill mix team within Public Health Nursing.
  • Worked as a SCPHN (HV/SN) for a minimum of 3 years managing a generic health visiting/school nursing caseload
