A public healthcare provider in Launceston is seeking a dedicated Senior Medical Scientist for Anatomical Pathology. This full-time position requires a strong background in pathology, supervisory experience, and a tertiary qualification in Medical Laboratory Science. The successful candidate will work both independently and in collaboration to enhance department operations while impacting community health positively. Salary ranges from $110,425 to $121,907 per annum plus benefits.
Northern Tasmanian Pathology Service (NTPS) provides Pathology services to Launceston General Hospital and the Northern regions of Tasmania. We are the only public pathology service operating in North Tasmania. NTPS aims to deliver a high-quality service to general practitioners, medical specialists and private hospitals, providing patients with no out of pocket expenses for Medicare eligible tests. The team at NTPS comprises a large team involving multi-disciplinary scientists, technicians, non-technical staff and Pathologists.
The main focus of this role will be to assist the Medical Scientist in charge in the day to day running and management of the Anatomical Pathology department and undertake his/her duties in their absence. The successful candidate should also be able to apply professional judgement and scientific specialist knowledge towards performance, analysis and troubleshooting of standard diagnostic procedures, whilst displaying a high level of leadership skills.

$110,425 to $121,907 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
