A pivotal and influential position has arisen for an Interim Head of Health and Safety to join Great Portland Estates (GPE), a highly regarded central London Property Investment and Development company.

Reporting directly to the Director of Portfolio Management, you will lead the business to exceed legal compliance and continue the delivery of the health and safety strategy across a £2.5 billion central London portfolio.

• High-Level Collaboration: This role works in close partnership with Executive Committees, the Board, and senior management from Principal Contractors to champion safety and wellbeing.

• Strong existing foundations: You will join and lead a well established and high-performing team to continue to deliver excellence across the portfolio.
• Leadership Visibility: Reporting to the Director of Portfolio Management, you will provide strong, visible, and proactive leadership for all Health and Safety matters across the group.

• Bring significant experience as an H&S professional at a “Head of Department” level, ideally within the property, facilities, or construction sectors.
• Demonstrate the personal resilience and composure needed to respond positively to the needs of a demanding, high-profile client base.
• Possess the ability to build strong internal relationships and use their own initiative to progress tasks while remaining a collaborative team player.
• Successfully manage a team of employees, including providing direct line management and development support to the H&S Compliance Manager.
